  William Kleber DC, DABCI

  Dr. Kleber received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at New York Chiropractic College in 1982. He also earned his Diplomate Degree from the American Board of Chiropractic Internists in 2000. He is one of two coordinators of the DABCI program, certified by the Council on Diagnosis and Internal Disorders. His interest in internal medicine began when he came to believe that his patients were suffering from more than just subluxations, but serious internal disorders continually exacerbating the subluxations. His desire to learn more about these issues stemmed from his dedication to improve not only the health of his patients, but the quality of their life, with natural medicine. As a Chiropractic Internist, Dr. Kleber is equipped to diagnose and treat a full spectrum of conditions from a common cold to chronic illness and disease. He is in the unique position of utilizing advanced diagnostic methods to uncover the source of illness and then treat with holistic and natural supplements to correct illness. Early on, he had a keen interest in endocrinology, believing that thyroid disorders are frequently misdiagnosed, misunderstood and poorly managed. He is recognized in the industry for his expertise in the accurate diagnosis and successful treatment of thyroid disorders without pharmaceutical interventions. With more than 29 years experience as a chiropractor and more than 11 years as an internist, Dr. Kleber has built a successful practice in Colorado, providing alternative options to those who have exhausted the traditional field of medicine with no success. Using a synergistic approach to caring for his patients, Dr. Kleber finds the combination of nutrition, blood work, hormonal balancing, and chiropractic has brought powerful new tools to their successful treatment.

  In this stand-alone session we will focus on a broad understanding of cancer. The history of cancer prevalence will be compared to lifestyle changes and changes within society and the American lifestyle. We will discuss cancer as a chronic disease with a look at cancer statistics and trends in various forms of cancer and cancer incidences. The basic forms of cancer and grades of cancer will be discussed.

  Learning Objectives

  1. Analyze trends in cancer prevalence in relation to societal and lifestyle changes.
  2. Identify and describe the five basic forms of cancer and their distinguishing features.
  3. Differentiate between benign and malignant tumors.
  4. Explain the processes of angiogenesis and metastasis in cancer development.
  5. Understand cancer grading systems and how they relate to prognosis and treatment.

  Documenting the Chiropractic Physicians Role in Treating Cancer Patients

  In this stand-alone session, we will be guiding students through a clinical approach on how to best examine a patient case to rule out cancer. We will review the history and testing of the patient’s condition and demonstrate how to document such analysis. Patients often see chiropractic physicians as a knowledgeable professional who can offer advice on serious illnesses. Chiropractic physicians cannot claim to treat cancer, but they can threaten people who have cancer. Case studies documenting alternative and adjunctive treatments for various cancers will be offered.

  Learning Objectives

  1. Identify the warning signs and symptoms of common cancers that may be present in a chiropractic setting.
  2. Demonstrate appropriate documentation techniques for patient cases involving suspected or confirmed cancer, including referrals and patient education.
  3. Analyze case studies involving chiropractic care in patients with cancer, recognizing the ethical boundaries of communication and scope of practice.

  Conventional Diagnostics and Treatments of Cancer vs Alternative Diagnostics and Treatments of Cancer Patients

  In this stand-alone session, the student will learn about common diagnostics used with both traditional and non-traditional practitioners. We will also explore advanced traditional testing. We will also explore accurate and non-traditional testing that leads to alternative and adjunctive treatments. Genetic testing such as BRCA 1 and BRCA 2 will be discussed. Imaging tests such as 3 T MRI will be presented. Circulating tumor cells and RGCC testing will be discussed as well as Galleri test.

  1. Identify commonly used diagnostic tools in both traditional and integrative cancer care, including genetic and imaging modalities.
  2. Evaluate emerging technologies such as circulating tumor cell testing (RGCC) and Galleri testing for their clinical relevance in early detection and adjunctive treatment planning.
  3. Discuss the role of advanced diagnostics in cancer prevention, patient education, and long-term monitoring within a collaborative healthcare framework.
