    Misty Green, DC, MS DC, MS

    Dr. Misty Green graduated from Life University in 1999 and has been in private practice the last 23 years in Cape Coral, Florida as a chiropractic physician and in recent years, she has been a cannabis patient advocate with emphasis on cannabis education. In May 2022 she completed the first graduate level cannabis program in the country, obtaining her Master’s degree in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics through the University of Maryland, School of Pharmacy.  She has combined her decades of clinical practice with her fascination with all things cannabis to pivot into the cannabis space, helping bridge the gap between healthcare workers and much needed cannabis education through lectures and cannabis curriculum production.

    There is an epidemic of overprescribing of birth control, anti depressants, HRT, bio identical hormones, thyroid medication, stimulants, and many other unnecessary medications or procedures that are no more than a dangerous piece of duct tape put over the female “check engine light”.

    If we don’t talk to our women patients, who will?   Now is the time.  We are surrounded by colleagues who are leaders in women’s nutrition.  We must start working as a team.  If you do not want to do this type of work, that’s fine, but make sure you are helping them find the right person.

    Women’s health issues are complicated and messy.  But the body wants to be well and often it takes a few small steps to get her moving in the right direction.  There are no short cuts but there are REAL solutions.  It is time to take back our health and all decisions surrounding it.

    This course will introduce cannabinoid therapy basics and provide discussion of legal and ethical considerations when implementing CBD and other cannabinoids into healthcare practices. Topics to be covered include intro to the endocannabinoid system (ECS) and how CBD and other cannabinoids interact with it.  Cannabinoid delivery systems will be discussed as well as evidence based therapeutic applications/protocols, risks of use/contraindications, and potential drug interactions. Considering the recent popularity of CBD and other cannabis products, understanding the difference between cannabis, hemp, and marijuana is necessary in order to navigate federal “gray areas” and avoid potential malpractice pitfalls.

    • Evaluate the endocannabinoid system (ECS) and discuss how CBD and other cannabinoids interact with it
    • Assess potential risks, contraindications, and drug interactions involved with cannabinoid therapy

    Kyle Nevius DC

    Dr. Kyle Nevius has been in practice as a chiropractor since 1987.  His original background started in pre-hospital emergency medicine.  He was the Owner/Director/pilot of the Level I Critical Care Fixed Wing Air Ambulance Service for Southwest Florida for over 10 years.  He was introduced to chiropractic, after suffering multiple injuries as a professional driver for Porsche motor-sports.  He was actually referred by an emergency room physician, who became a lifelong friend.  Subsequently, his chiropractic physician became very instrumental in his rehabilitation and career!  As a chiropractor himself, he has been extremely involved in his community, sitting on boards/committees such as Special Olympics Florida, the Florida Worker’s Compensation Oversight Board, and the Occupational Physician Advisory Panel at Naples Community Hospital, where he continues to be a member of Health Partners (PHO).  He served as the chairman of the board at the Collier county chapter of the American Red Cross directing disaster relief efforts through hurricane Andrew.  During all that, he was also the only Naples DC to serve as the president for the FCA Board of Directors and was the team physician for Naples High School for 7 years!!  He is the author of “Corporate Healthcare Florida” used by chiropractic and allopathic physicians for work related injuries.  Dr. Nevius serves 12 large south west Florida employers with over 10,000 employees providing evaluation and treatment for workers compensation injuries.  He is the prehospital rotary wing director for Sebring International Raceway.  He is an expert medical advisor for the state of Florida and is a consultant to the Agency for Healthcare Administration.
