  Brent Compton MD, DC, FACP

  Dr. Brent Compton is a lifelong local of Central Florida and a graduate of The University of Central Florida. Following completion of his bachelor’s in science degree, he went on to follow in his father‘s footsteps and obtain his Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Florida.  After operating a successful practice for several years along with his father, he felt the calling to continue his training and went on to obtain his Medical Doctor (MD) degree ultimately training in Internal Medicine and specializing in Interventional Pain medicine.

  Dr. Compton’s ability to evaluate and treat a patient from multiple unique and different perspectives simultaneously allows his patients to have full access to quality care ranging from conservative treatments to interventional/surgical options as needed. Dr. Compton states, “The best treatment for a patient, regardless of the complaint, is the most conservative effective therapy possible. Depending on the patient’s needs and medical history we look to achieve this goal with home exercise, physical therapy, Chiropractic care, medication management, numerous interventional pain procedures such as injections, ablations, and up to minimally invasive surgical options.  Often it is a combination of various treatment options that will yield the best results.

  This 2-hour course provides chiropractors with a foundational understanding of when and how to escalate patient care beyond conservative management. Taught by Brent Compton, DC, MD, this session bridges the clinical insight of chiropractic with interventional pain medicine, emphasizing collaborative care when patients fail to improve through standard chiropractic modalities. Attendees will learn how to identify candidates for referrals, understand interventional tools such as radiofrequency ablation and spinal cord stimulation, and recognize the value of integrative management. By exploring real-world protocols and outcomes, chiropractors will enhance their decision-making and referral strategies to improve patient outcomes.

  1. Identify clinical indicators that suggest failure of conservative care and warrant referral to interventional pain management.
  2. Describe interventional options such as medial branch blocks, radiofrequency ablation, and spinal cord stimulation, including their indications and outcomes.
