    Maryann Furman is a board-certified civil trial lawyer, as well as a registered nurse. She is the owner of The Nurse Lawyer, P.A. Maryann’s passion is in litigating and trying cases to get the best possible result for her injured clients.

    Maryann is part of the 1% of women who are board certified civil trial lawyers. She has tried over 65 jury trials to verdict and has received several multi-million-dollar verdicts.

    Chiropractors will be briefed on the many recent legislative changes and potential impacts to their practices on both the state and federal level.  Disciplinary pitfalls are also highlighted, along with strategies to steer clear of them.

    Chiropractors will learn more about the clawbacks of PIP benefits under the legal allegations of fraud from the lawyer who took the case to trial in 2024.  He will discuss the new tactics used by the insurance companies and their lawyers’ cottage industries of clawing back years of PIP benefits from chiropractors across the state.

    “The Nurse Lawyer” will discuss her expertise in how the 2024 Tort Reform Law impacted chiropractic offices across the State and how to best work around the reforms.  Chiropractors will learn about the best documentation methods in preparing a case for trial.

    The last year, there have been some setbacks in PIP legal decisions and coding interpretations.  Chiropractors will learn what those setbacks are, how they may impact their offices, and how to avoid setbacks in the future.

    This is a lecture that you will not want to miss!

  • Kim Driggers-Jaffe

    Kim Driggers-Jaffe Esq.

    Kimberly A. Driggers-Jaffe is the owner of Driggers Law, PA, where she represents the Florida Chiropractic Association as its General Counsel and serves as one of their Lobbyists.  For the prior twenty-plus years, Ms. Driggers was in private practice in Orlando and Tallahassee, Florida, initially representing the interests of insurance companies in their defense of injury and insurance claims.  After many years and for the majority of her practice, she put her insurance knowledge to use in representing medical providers, injured patients, and homeowners in the denial of insurance benefits, and litigating insurance claims in courts throughout Florida.

    Kim is well known in the area of Personal Injury Protection insurance law (No-Fault or PIP insurance) and has authored numerous articles, testifies regularly in the Florida Legislature, and lectures for the Florida Chiropractic Association throughout the State of Florida.  She is a longstanding member of the National Association of Chiropractic Attorneys.

    In August 2019, Ms. Driggers became the first Non-Chiropractor and the seventh woman since 1963, to be elected to the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, the international testing agency for the chiropractic profession that develops, administers and scores standardized exams for the chiropractic profession.

    She received her B.A. in Psychology Magna Cum Laude from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida in 1990.  Ms. Driggers attended the Florida State University College of Law, receiving her J.D. in 1994.
