Integrative Health Call to Action Addressing the Opioid and Mental Health Crises

Objectives:

-Understand Opioid Addiction Dynamics: Doctors will gain insight into the statistical trends of opioid prescribing, overdose, and suicide rates, as well as the biochemical mechanisms of opioid addiction and its impact on physical and mental health.
-Identify Risk Factors and Societal Influences: Participants will learn to recognize the interconnected roles of physical health, mental health, addiction, societal pressures, and the effects of COVID-19 in fueling the opioid crisis.
-Implement Prevention and Treatment Strategies: Doctors will be equipped with knowledge of upstream prevention techniques, including lifestyle modifications such as diet, exercise, and supplementation, to aid in the treatment and prevention of opioid addiction.
