Objectives: • Learn relevant anatomy and biomechanics of the thoracic region and its influence on movement patterns of the neck, lumbar, and shoulder regions.
• Become proficient in a soft tissue skill designed to improve mobility.
• Learn corrective movements that can be prescribed to patients presenting with decreased mobility of the thoracic region
Description: This course is designed to provide practitioners with a series of hands-on manual techniques intended to enhance mobility of the thoracic region. Included is a review of relevant anatomy and biomechanics including the structure and nature of the fascial system, as well as step by step instruction on soft tissue manipulation targeting movement in all planes. Thoracic motion is critical for rotational athletes as it plays an important role in dictating the mechanics of the shoulder, neck, and lower back, This course will add another skill to the chiropractor’s evolving toolkit.
