Dr. Alan K. Sokoloff, or “Dr. Sok”, as his patients refer to him, is the owner/clinic director of the Yalich Clinic Performance and Rehabilitation in Glen Burnie, MD, where he has practiced for over 37 years.
Since 1999, he continues to be one of the team chiropractors for the 2-time World Champion Baltimore Ravens of the NFL. He is also a medical team member for the Baltimore Orioles Major League Baseball team, as well as the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles AA Team). Dr. Sok has been a part of the University of Maryland Sports Medical Team since 1991. He is the immediate past president of the Professional Football Chiropractic Society and the past 2 term president of the Maryland Chiropractic Association. Dr. Sokoloff did his residency at the Olympic Training Center in 1997, going on to the Goodwill Games in 1998 and the Pan Am Games in 1999.
Dr. Sok is currently an active board member of BASH, Baltimore Area Sports Health Initiative, helping to provide healthcare to inner city school athletes as well as health educational opportunities for Baltimore City students.
At all levels of competition, there are opportunities for a sports-minded chiropractor to help in the care of an athlete. But what if it is on the field? What if you do not have your perfect height-adjusting table? We will cover the dos and don’ts of treating on the sidelines from the Pee Wees to the Pros. Risk management is always a concern when treating the field. We will cover some of the screening dos and don’ts before you provide any on-field care. We will get into some techniques that will allow you to better help an athlete with performance enhancement or post-injury treatment.
