Joanne Fava DC, CCSP, EMT-B

Dr. Joanne Fava is a highly respected chiropractic sports physician with more than 30 years of experience in sports medicine, rehabilitation, and athlete performance care. A graduate of New York Chiropractic College, she is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP) and licensed EMT-B who has dedicated her career to advancing athlete health and safety at every level of competition.

As founder of Functional Sports Medicine/FASTAR in University Park and Venice, Dr. Fava specializes in injury prevention, functional rehabilitation, emergency response, and performance optimization. Her extensive on-field experience includes serving as Medical Director and Safety Officer for numerous national and international sporting events, including USRowing and USOPC competitions, World Championships, Pan-American events, and Olympic qualifiers. She currently serves as the Official Chiropractic Physician for the Venice High School Athletic Department and as Chief Medical Director for Nathan Benderson Park Conservancy.

Dr. Fava is also a dedicated educator and mentor, serving as adjunct faculty for Palmer College of Chiropractic and National University of Health Sciences. Her leadership and contributions to the profession have earned her numerous honors, including the 2024 ACBSP Sports Chiropractor of the Year award.
