    Garrett Thompson, DC, PhD, is a distinguished leader in higher education and is proud to serve Logan University as its 8th President. With over 25 years of experience in healthcare and healthcare education, Dr. Thompson has held various academic and administrative roles at esteemed institutions, proudly driving innovation and fostering interprofessional collaboration. His research interests include healthcare education,  policy, and leadership, with numerous publications and presentations on these topics. As a dedicated mentor, Dr. Thompson has guided students and faculty to reach their full potential, earning international recognition for his commitment to academic excellence and contributions to higher education.

  • William Sherrier

    William Sherrier DC, MA

    Dr. William Sherrier was appointed president of Palmer College of Chiropractic’s Florida campus in June 2023 and is the second administrator to hold this title. Dr. Sherrier earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Stockton University and, after graduating from Life  University in 1989, practiced chiropractic for many years in the northeastern United States and then Florida. He has spent most of his professional career at Palmer’s Florida campus,  having the distinction of being the first faculty clinician hired by Palmer when it opened in 2003. Prior to Dr. Sherrier’s role as campus president, he had held the titles of associate professor, director of practice foundations, associate dean of clinical sciences, and dean of academic affairs. During his tenure at Palmer, Florida, Dr. Sherrier earned a Master of  Arts degree in Applied Learning and Instruction in 2015 from the University of Central  Florida, where he was awarded a graduate merit fellowship. His experience and leadership reflect his dedication to chiropractic education and to Palmer College of Chiropractic.

  • Michael Schneider

    Michael Schneider DC, PhD

    Dr. Schneider received his PhD in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2008 and his DC degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1982. He has authored over 120 peer-reviewed publications and has been a Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on numerous federally funded randomized clinical trials. He practiced chiropractic for over 25 years before transitioning into his current career as a full-time academic researcher. Dr. Schneider is a Full Professor at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was recently appointed as the inaugural Director of the Doctor of Chiropractic program. This is the first DC program to be offered by a research-intensive public university in the U.S.

  • Brian McAulay

    Brian McAulay DC, Ph.D.

    Dr. Brian McAulay is President of Life University and a higher-education executive with extensive experience leading chiropractic colleges and multi-campus university systems.  Over his career, he has served as a president, chief academic officer, and executive vice president, with a focus on strategic planning, academic innovation, accreditation, and sustainable enrollment growth. An American Council on Education (ACE) Fellow (2008) and chair of numerous regional accreditation site teams, Dr. McAulay has also served as Chair of the Association of Chiropractic Colleges and the CCE Admission Standards Committee.  He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto, a Doctor of Chiropractic from Pennsylvania College of Chiropractic, and a Ph.D. in Business and Management from  Temple University, and has taught in both chiropractic education and graduate business programs.

  • Peter J. Kevorkian

    Peter J. Kevorkian DC

    Dr. Peter J. Kevorkian was appointed as the 4th President of Life Chiropractic  College West on July 1, 2025. 

    Before stepping into academic leadership, Dr. Peter spent over 40 years in private  practice with his wife and partner, Dr. Patricia A. Giuliano, in Westwood,  Massachusetts. Together, they created a renowned family practice that is widely  considered a model for excellence in family chiropractic care. Their own family  story—including the home water births of their children, Katie and Christopher— embodies their commitment to vitalistic living from birth onward. 

    Dr. Peter is a global voice, known for his passionate teaching on wellness and  vitality, personal transformation, possibility thinking, chiropractic philosophy,  pediatric care, and the power of family care. He currently serves as President of the  Board of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), and he has  formerly chaired the Board of Trustees at Sherman College of Chiropractic. He’s  also served on the Board of the Massachusetts Chiropractic Society and, with Dr.  Patti, co-founded and led the Massachusetts Alliance for Chiropractic Philosophy  for over three decades. 

    A 1982 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. Peter has been honored as  a Fellow of the International Chiropractors Association and the College of Straight  Chiropractic, and he has received numerous awards and distinctions from  organizations around the world.

  • Nathan Long

    Nathan Long Ed.D.

    Nathan Long, Ed.D., was appointed President of the University of Western States (UWS) by the Board of Trustees on October 7, 2024, following his service as interim president beginning in June 2024. Before joining UWS, Dr. Long served as president of Saybrook University in  Pasadena, California, from August 2014 through June 2024. Saybrook is a non-profit, regionally accredited private university and a member of The Community Solution  Education System. During his tenure there, he also hosted the podcast Saybrook Insights with President Nathan Long, featuring conversations with faculty, students, alumni, and community leaders to advance ideas that support individual and community well-being.  

    Dr. Long holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance (trombone and conducting); a  Master of Education in Educational Studies with cognates in educational psychology and sociology; and a Doctor of Education in Educational Studies, with concentrations in history, sociology, and peace and urban education. His scholarly work includes several peer-reviewed articles and co-edited or co-authored publications, including African  American Peace Leaders of the 20th Century (Mellen Press, 2003), written with Drs. Marvin  Berlowitz and Eric Jackson.  

    Prior to and during his time in academia, Dr. Long played professionally and semi-professionally, performing with groups including The Middletown Symphony Orchestra, The  Lexington Philharmonic, City Jazz Ensemble of San Francisco, Mt. Auburn Brass, and the  Lexington Brass Ensemble.  

    Dr. Long is married to professional actor and singer Kimberly Schroeder Long. She performs regularly across the Palm Springs region. They maintain their permanent home in  Southern California, while Dr. Long resides in Portland, Oregon, in service to UWS.
