Dr. John Lockenour is a 1977 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic. After completing his graduate degree, he completed two diplomas through the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedists and the American Board of Chiropractic Acupuncture. Dr. Anne Sorrentino DC, DACBSP®, EMT-B came to the northern Virginia area in 2012. She graduated from St. John’s University with a B.S. in Pharmacy and graduated cum laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic. She received her Diplomate from the American Chiropractic Board Sports Physicians (DACBSP®) and maintained a sports chiropractic practice in Indiana, Pennsylvania for 24 years, treating athletes of all levels from injury outset through all phases of healing.
Honored as the 2014 Sports Chiropractor of the Year by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians™, she also served as the USA team chiropractor for the 2017 World University Games in Kazakhstan.
A Senior Director for WMI Global Inc., she trains medical teams and manages risk, safety, and rescue operations at international events. She was the Medical Officer for Olympic Street and Park Skateboarding, including the Paris 2024 Games. Her ongoing work spans The Snow League, Nitro Circus, UCI BMX events, World Skate competitions and previously the Ragnar Relays.
She has traveled with Team USA Archery and USA Bobsled/ Skeleton in addition to serving on sports medical teams for several events including the following: 2016 Olympic Track & Field Trials, USA Track and Field Nationals, IRONMAN Lake Placid, State Games of America and the Pennsylvania Keystone Games. She served three clinical rotations for the United States Olympic Training Centers in both Colorado Springs and Lake Placid, NY. She is a former team doctor for the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey Teams.
Dr. Sorrentino is an adjunct instructor for National University of Health Sciences’ sports chiropractic program. She is certified as an EMT, CPR instructor through the American Red Cross, OEC instructor, and national ski patroller.

The CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers (CPRO) program trains professional-level rescuers to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants until more advanced medical personnel take over. This course has been recently updated to current International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) guidelines, including the American Red Cross Aquatic Guidelines and Best Practices. Best Practices are based on the results of scientific evidence evaluations and guideline reviews overseen by the American Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council.
The term professional rescuer refers to those with a duty to act. These professions include EMS professionals, nurses, physicians, CNAs, and other healthcare and public safety personnel, as well as those in the athletic training and recreation fields, including lifeguards. Through these courses we’re able to keep you up to date on the latest techniques, so you can maintain certifications and deliver the best possible care in an emergency. Course content includes knowledge and skills for providing emergency care for adults, children, and infants in:
- Rapid Assessment
- Giving Ventilations using a resuscitation mask
- Using a Bag-Valve-Mask Resuscitator (two rescuers)
- CPR and AED (single-rescuer, two rescuer, and multiple-rescuer team response with 4 rescuers)
- Obstructed Airway Care (responsive and unresponsive)
For professional rescuers, CPR and other instruction can be obtained through instructor-led classes (classroom only), or through blended learning classes, which offer you the opportunity to learn online then complete your hands-on training in a classroom setting.

Dr. Lora Tanis, DC, DICCP, has dedicated her career to advancing chiropractic care for children and expectant mothers across the globe. She currently practices in Tallahassee, Florida, after serving the West Milford, New Jersey community in private practice for nearly three decades.
A graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. Tanis earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1989 and completed her Diplomate in Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics in 1996 through Palmer College and the International Chiropractors Association Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics. Her academic foundation began in pre-med studies at Scott College and Mott College before graduating from Lapeer East High School in Michigan.
Since 1999, Dr. Tanis has been a trusted member of the postgraduate faculty at Palmer College of Chiropractic and a lead instructor for the Diplomate in Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics program, teaching across the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. She is a sought-after educator known for delivering dynamic seminars on pediatric and pregnancy care for Palmer College, state associations, national conventions, and international symposiums.Her speaking career spans some of the profession’s most respected platforms, including the Building Bridges Symposium on Chiropractic & Pediatrics, the International Conference on the Science, Art and Philosophy of Chiropractic, and the World Federation Conference in Berlin. She has presented lectures, papers, and hands-on adjusting workshops at the Annual Conference on Chiropractic & Pediatrics for more than two decades, and she was honored to serve as commencement speaker for Palmer College’s graduating class in 2008.
Dr. Tanis has held numerous leadership positions throughout her career. She currently serves as President of the ICA Pediatric Council and sits on the Board of Directors for the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress. Her past roles include Advisor to the Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics, long-standing Chair of the ICA Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics, and Examiner for the International College of Chiropractic Pediatrics across multiple countries. She is also a reviewer for the Journal of Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics and has contributed research and articles to JMPT, JCCP, the ICA Review, and other professional publications.
Her leadership and service have earned widespread recognition, including the Mabel Palmer Service Award, the Maxine McMullen Award, the ICA Pediatric Council Achievement Award, Chiropractor of the Year from the International Chiropractors Association, and induction as a Fellow in the Palmer Academy of Chiropractic. She is also a Distinguished Fellow of the ICA and a founding member of the ICA Pediatric Council.

This 2-hour lecture explores the biomechanical, neurological and developmental effects of in-utero constraint and birth stress on the neonate and infant. Participants will review fetal position, maternal influences, common presentations associated with constraint. Review of birth and associated neonatal symptoms that are commonly present in a chiropractic office.
